“Hashiru Nippon-Ichi” project original items - charming souvenirs of places along JR West routes that can be purchased inside a Sanyo Shinkansen carriage.

The name Yakumonuri derives from old songs about the Izumo area. Yakumonuri is a technique where a colored lacquer pattern is painted on a wood base that has an intermediate coat applied to it, and then transparent lacquer is layered on top of this. With every passing year, the transparency of this top layer increases, and the vivid colors of the picture painted underneath emerge. This item is designed with a couple camellia motif, that is said to symbolize marriage and a harmonious couple, and double leaves that appear as time passes. A hand mirror that increases with beauty as time passes.
